Shoreham is an unincorporated community within the town of Brookhaven on the North Shore. Shoreham was the location of the Tesla Tower, designed for transatlantic communication. The tower was dismantled in 1917. When it was previously incorporated, Shoreham was the smallest village in New York State. Shoreham was also the first New York municipality to have concrete roads throughout its territory.
Shoreham is a small and active community. The community is home to a Country Club, Garden Club and Village Association. Many current and former residents have chronicled Shoreham's history. Photos and histories are available for review at Shoreham's Village Hall. Tall Grass Golf Course provides golfers with an opportunity to perfect their swings, while water lovers can relax and enjoy the sand at Shoreham Beach or nearby North Shore Beach.
